It sounds like a simple proposition. Every month Louis Vuitton add numerous new products to their website and require some descriptions of them for the appropriate webpage. But there’s a slight catch. You only get 200 characters (including spaces) to do it in. It must read high-end – after all, if someone’s going to be paying £3000 for a bag, it has to be an enticing read. And you get to do about 30+ each and every month.

 That was my remit as writer at Brand Advocate. And each month the products would duly land in my inbox and off we’d go. (And no, there were never any free samples before you ask – luxury manufacturers tend not to give out freebies). I effectively ran this account single-handedly during my time at Brand Advocate, devising the tone of voice and even creating a Bible of terms and descriptions for anyone new to the account.
