Saatchi & Saatchi Grad Scheme
Every year Saatchi & Saatchi send out a mailing to find the best potential new account executives from among the student population. Only a few places are up for grabs and interest is always very high so our task was to create something that would elicit responses from only the brightest candidates.
Our solution was to invite them to visit a website to find out how to get onto the Graduate Recruitment Scheme. Except when they visited that URL, they were confronted by one of those dreaded "This page cannot be displayed" notices.
Or were they?
If you actually trawl down through the text, you would find that full instructions on how to sign up for the scheme were right there down at the bottom of the page, buried in the last two paragraphs. This fooled quite a lot of students who were convinced that there was something wrong with the link. Needless to say, they didn't get an invite to the Charlotte Street office.
Interested candidates would receive a letter telling them to log on to a URL to start their application process.
Only to be confronted by what appeared to be an inactive webpage.
But of course, on closer inspection...
